Town Gazebo & Drug Store

Brooklet was established in 1899 along a stop on the Savannah and Statesboro Railroad and was the home of the county's first cotton gin outside of Statesboro. Incorporated in 1906, the town took it's name from a winding brook that passed through it.

Today, Brooklet covers some 3.1 square miles and is home to around 1,100 people and 68 businesses. The town is convienently located along highway 80, about 10 minutes east of Statesboro and Georgia Southern University, and about an hour west of Savannah and the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport.

Brooklet is known for it's quiet rural setting, friendly town stores, annual Peanut Festival and excellent school system which enrolls some 1,800 K-12 students. For further information see our newcomers page.
